Original texts on this portal are published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, redistribute and adapt them, including commercially, as long as you credit the author and link to the source.

Data
Each dataset has its own license, stated on its page. The CC BY 4.0 license of the texts does not apply automatically to data.
- V-Dem derivatives are published under CC BY-SA 4.0, because the upstream license requires share-alike.
- GDELT data is governed by The GDELT Project’s terms of use. Check the source before reusing it.
- Original datasets state their license, version and recommended citation on their page.
Code and marks
The website code will be released under an open license when the repository becomes public. “Comparative Politics” and the portal logo are not licensed for reuse merely because the texts are.
Third parties
The names and logos of V-Dem, GDELT and other sources belong to their owners. Their mention does not imply affiliation or endorsement.
